Shri Jagubhai Doshi was a distinguished electrical engineer and the founder of Amer-Dye Chem. Ltd, a company specializing in the manufacture of dyestuffs. His dedication to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was remarkable, with his contributions to this cultural movement being celebrated and honored. Among his many significant contributions, the establishment of the Jamnagar Kendra stands out as a lasting legacy.
Shri Jagubhai Doshi understood the critical importance of women’s education. In 1975, his generous donation facilitated the establishment of the Shri A.K. Doshi Mahila College. He donated 95,000 square feet of land and a total of Rs. 15 lakhs to commemorate his uncle, Shri A.K. Doshi. This support was crucial for the college’s creation and for advancing cultural activities.
In 1993, Shri Jagubhai Doshi further demonstrated his commitment to education by donating Rs. 25 lakhs and a plot of land to establish an English medium school in Jamnagar.
Former Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Jamnagar Kendra
Shri Chandrakanthbhai Amritlal Doshi, the son of Amrital Kalidas Doshi, was the Chairman and Managing Director of Amritlal Chem. Ltd. Renowned in the chemical and dyestuff industry, he was also deeply engaged in Jain philosophical research and writing. His tenure as Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Jamnagar Kendra was marked by his significant contributions of time and financial resources to social and educational institutions.
